Fun and fundraising for Elaine and friends

Foulridge mum Elaine Waine hosted her sixth charity ball, this year with a Venetian masquerade theme.

Held at the Fence Gate Inn, more than £8,500 was raised for both Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal and Pendleside Hospice. Guests at the black tie ball, sponsored by Broden Lloyd, enjoyed champagne and canapés on arrival with musical entertainment by solo pianist Robert McLaughlin and the Trawden String Quartet. Following dinner and an auction, doors opened on a casino and there was dancing into the early hours.

Elaine said: ‘I underwent 20 radiotherapy treatments at Rosemere Cancer Centre, which is such a positive place.

‘This is my way of bringing family and friends together to celebrate life and give a little something back.’ w
