Devon Life attended the launch of the newly refurbished Rosette awarded Quayside Restaurant at the Quayside Hotel overlooking beautiful Brixham Harbour in Devon.

The Quayside Hotel owned by Chris and Bridget Bowring was created from 6 fishermen's cottages. It exudes a character, warmth and a charm that made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in the door to a very friendly welcome. Devon Life has recently featured Brixham and the writer described this delightful fishing port as having real soul. The Quayside Hotel certainly has soul with its welcoming staff, charming decor and an elegant restaurant with a spectacular view of the harbour lights.

Invited guests were served with bubbly and delicious canapes and then went through for dinner and formal reopening of the Quayside Restaurant.

Brixham has the highest value catch in the country and the quality of fish that arrives daily is excellent. We enjoyed hand-dived scallops caught off Berry Head that couldn't have been fresher. All the dishes were beautifully served and presented by Head Chef Andy Sewell, Sous Chef Callum Tasker and their team.

The Quayside have a dining club for regular patrons and you can also enjoy more casual dining in the Ernie Lister Bar where you can often hear tales from local seafaring folk.

We loved the Quayside, quite a discovery - delicious food - a very special location - great people - highly recommended.
