Boat Building Academy graduates celebrate

Despite the unseasonal June rain the Boat Building Academy launched its latest fleet of student boats at Lyme Regis harbour. Students from all over the EU joined the 38 week course which culminates with the launch of the boats they have built. The diverse range of craft they created included the equivalent of a marine “hot rod”, a restoration of a 1950s Looe hire boat, a refit of a GRP motor boat, traditional clinkers, glued clinkers and strip planked sailing boats, all of which safely completed their maiden voyage.
