A celebrated London kitchen duo is joining forces with one of Falmouth’s most respected seafood venues for two special pop‑up events this February, showcasing sustainable Cornish ingredients and inventive cooking.

Rake, the culinary partnership currently in residency at London’s Compton Arms, will collaborate with Verdant Seafood Bar for exclusive services in Falmouth on 22 February and London on 28 February.

The events promise a fusion of restorative British fare and Verdant’s ocean‑to‑plate ethos, celebrating Cornwall’s day‑boat seafood and bold seasonal dishes.

Visitors in Falmouth can expect a walk‑in-only experience at Verdant’s Quay Street venue from noon until 9pm.

The collaboration then moves to Islington for two London sessions at the historic Compton Arms on 4 Compton Avenue, with bookings available online.

Among Rake’s headline offerings is the team’s viral sensation, the Ray wing crumpet, served with hot golden syrup. Their menu also includes braised lamb shank with tartar gravy and popcorn cockles; ham hock and mushy pea terrine; blue cheese scones with house pickle; and burnt treacle squash with ancient grains and artichoke.

Verdant Seafood Bar will present dishes influenced by Asian and Cornish flavours, including kimchi fritters with gochujang mayo and togarashi; Cornish octopus with coconut and peanut curry; Mylor scallops with salsify, cashew and pancetta; horse mackerel with celeriac, apple and toast; and an evaporated milk ice cream with Burnthouse caramel and dark chocolate for dessert.

Both businesses say the partnership is rooted in a shared commitment to sustainability, creativity and ethical sourcing — foundations of Verdant’s approach to its seafood‑first menu and the region’s marine biodiversity.
