A new experience will soon be opening its doors on a historic Norfolk estate.

An interactive artwork titled The Golden Shed is being launched in the courtyard at Longlands at the Holkham Estate next week.

Created by acclaimed artist Harry Cory Wright and international jeweller Monica Vinader, the shed includes 600 pieces of landscape, inspired by the surrounding estuary.

The pieces are small painted, inscribed wooden and glass elements arranged across shelves lining the interior walls.

Visitors are invited to stack and compose their own arrangements on coloured boards provided, explore colour and form, and piece together their own personal interpretation of landscape.

“This work continues a long-standing exploration of how we experience landscape," Mr Wright said.

"By breaking it into parts and inviting people to reassemble it, the process becomes both personal and shared.”

Ms Vinader added: “Layering, composition and individuality, grounded in strong appreciation for artistry, sit at the heart of what we do.

"This collaboration brings those ideas into a new setting, shaped by the landscape around us.”

Guests book the installation for private one-hour sessions, either individually or in small groups, with exclusive use of the space.

Each session is accompanied by an original soundtrack by artist Alex Howard, drawing on sounds, places and atmospheres from across the local landscape.

“It is an absolute delight and privilege to house The Golden Shed at Holkham this summer," Lucy Downing, director of marketing, said.

"We knew working with outstanding creators Harry Cory Wright and Monica Vinader would be exciting, but The Golden Shed exceeds all expectations.

"It offers a truly peaceful and transformative experience, so rare in today’s fast-paced world."

At the end of the experience, compositions are photographed and shared with the studio.

Visitors can then choose to have their design produced as a fine art print on Japanese paper on the day, or commission Mr Wright to recreate the work as a framed sculptural relief.

It will be open from June 12 to August 31 and tickets can be booked online, costing £40.
