Norfolk’s maritime heritage will take centre stage in a coastal art exhibition this autumn.

By Way of the Sea, running from October 3 to 11 at St Nicholas Church in Salthouse, will showcase the work of four North Norfolk artists whose paintings are inspired by the county’s coastline, maritime history, and coastal communities.

Chris Kirby, Mary Blue, Jane Hodgson, and Tricia Moss will present diverse interpretations of the sea, united by a shared connection to the coast and the stories, landscapes, and people that define it.

Chris Kirby, exhibition curator and participating artist, said: "What makes this exhibition special is that each artist brings a different perspective to Norfolk's coastline and maritime heritage.

"Together, the works tell a broader story about our relationship with the sea – not only its beauty, but also the communities, livelihoods and traditions that have evolved around it over centuries.

"We are delighted to be exhibiting in Salthouse Church, a venue whose own history is so closely linked to the Norfolk coast."

The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 4.30pm, from 11am on Sundays.
