A petition to protect Weston Big Wood has been delivered to 10 Downing Street.
This petition, boasting 11,255 signatures, reflects growing local concern over proposals for at least 400 homes at Tower Farm and 100 homes at Black Rock.
Both are Green Belt sites located on either side of Weston Big Wood.
The next significant event in the campaign is the 'Save Weston Big Wood from Development' meeting, set to take place at Somerset Hall in Portishead, on October 21 from 7.30pm to 9pm.
Due to high demand and limited capacity, attendance is by ticket only.

Residents unable to secure a place can watch a recording of the meeting via portishead.gov.uk/north-somerset-local-plan.
The meeting will allow residents to hear from experts, local representatives, and campaigners about the proposed developments and their potential impact on the environment and Portishead's future growth.
The agenda includes the importance of protecting Weston Big Wood and the Gordano Valley, an overview of the planning process, opportunities to raise questions and concerns, and discussions on how Portishead can develop sustainably.
Guest speakers will include wildlife expert Chris Sperring MBE, Bernie D'Arcy from Avon Wildlife Trust, local Town and North Somerset Councillors, and campaigners Tom and Susan Henley.
