Kids and Canvas
Young artists can get creative this Halloween at an ultraviolet light painting workshop in Bury St Edmunds.
Children will be guided step-by-step to create their own spooky picture using special paints that glow under UV.
All materials and aprons are provided, although families should note that the paint may not wash out of clothing. During the workshop, the main lights will be switched off, with UV lights illuminating each easel.
The workshop is suitable for children aged five and over and takes place at The Apex. Parents or guardians must stay for the duration of the session. Tickets are priced at £22.

Scaresville
First launched in 2007, Kentwell Hall’s annual, after-dark Halloween experience is an immersive live-action horror walk set across the historic hall’s buildings, woods and grounds. Aimed at older teenagers and adults who enjoy a proper fright, the route winds through atmospheric sets in near-darkness. Here, costumed performers lurk – ready to surprise.
The moated Tudor house, gardens and parkland lend the experience an unusually authentic, eerie atmosphere. Tickets start from £33.50. For those with a more nervous disposition, Kentwell separately runs Halloweenies, its gentler daytime, child-focused Halloween offering.

It Walks Around The House At Night
Following a sell-out tour and London run, award-winning theatre company ThickSkin returns with the chilling ghost story It Walks Around The House At Night, haunting audiences across the UK this autumn. Written by Bruntwood Prize-winning playwright Tim Foley, this darkly comic horror follows Joe, an out-of-work actor who accepts a lucrative job playing a ghost at an isolated country manor. But something sinister waits beyond the staged scares.
Immersive sound, striking video and lighting heighten its unnerving atmosphere, while sudden noises, haze, strobe effects and jump scares make this suitable for ages 14-plus.
