A gala dinner to mark 100 days until the start in Yorkshire of the Tour de France was held at Ripon Cathedral. Among the guests were cycling legends Brian Robinson and Bernard Hinault as well as leading young cyclist Scott Thwaites. A team from the race organisers the ASO, Amaury Sport Organisation, also attended along with the president of British Cycling Bob Howden.
