Oxford-based Vale Financial Training has formed a partnership with recruitment consultancy Allen Associates to recognise and reward the highest achieving accountancy students in 2016.

Allen Associates, which has a dedicated finance recruitment division, will be sponsoring four new prizes of £300 each which will be awarded to the students that achieve the highest results in two different sets of exams, which take place twice a year.

The prizes will be awarded to the students that come out on top in the Fundamental ‘F’ papers and Professional ‘P’ papers which form an integral part of the ACCA accounting qualification, in exams held in June and December.

Liz Hulls, Director and Tutor at Vale Financial Training based at Harwell Oxford, said: “We are extremely pleased to have forged this new partnership with Allen Associates which has an excellent reputation in Oxfordshire for its professionalism and the quality of its service. We felt it was important to find a way to recognise and reward our students for the hard work and commitment that goes into studying for the ACCA qualification, and Allen Associates has enabled us to do that. “The average global pass rate for the ACCA exams is around 40 per cent, with some papers as low as 28 per cent, which shows just how challenging this qualification is, particularly given that many of our students have demanding jobs and have to fit their studies around business and family life.

“Many of our students are fortunate enough to be sponsored by their employers. For those that aren’t, we felt that this new partnership with Allen Associates would increase their chances of finding an interesting finance role within a great Oxfordshire business and we feel confident that the synergies between our two companies will help our students to advance their careers.”

Kate Allen, Managing Director of Allen Associates, said: “We are delighted to be working with Vale Financial Training and being able to offer prizes to their highest achieving students. We look forward to a great partnership and assisting those students who do not currently have employment but would benefit from our network of contacts, local knowledge and recruitment expertise in the future.”

Established in 2011 by Liz Hulls and Jo Tuffill, Vale Financial Training works with over 80 Oxfordshire employers and 175 local students. Specialising in the ACCA qualification, they were awarded Platinum status, the highest level of ACCA accreditation earlier this year. Vale FT is planning to offer an extended range of courses in 2016, including finance courses for non-finance managers and other accounting qualifications.

Allen Associates was established in Oxford in 1998 by Kate and Rob Allen and was the first recruitment consultancy in the county to achieve Investors in People Gold. The company now employs 17 consultants and support staff working on roles at all levels within the major business support functions of Finance, HR, Marketing and PA and Administration.
