Through collaboration with the Gloucester Research and Innovation Programme, an ERDF funded project based at the University of Gloucestershire, Dymock based Wanderlust Camper Co has been supported to bring its growing business into new markets. Wanderlust Camper Co offers handcrafted ‘glamping’ style campervans to hire for families, couples and groups of friends and they are available to hire individually or as group for special occasions and events.

New for the 2018 season, Wanderlust Camper Co have revealed their new look campervan fleet and announced several partnerships with other local businesses to offer some interesting breaks with a difference.

Annah Todman, from Wanderlust Camper Co says, ‘We know from those hiring our vans last season, that many guests chose to holiday locally because the region of the three counties has so much to offer visitors. Therefore, offering unique breaks to our guests seemed like the natural next step. We are so thrilled to be able to partner with some great venues in the Cotswolds.’

Wanderlust Camping Co have accessed a range of services through the GRIP project to aid their business growth journey, including expert workshops and intellectual property clinics provided in partnership by Cheltenham based Albrights IP. All of the services provided by the project are fully funded to Gloucestershire based businesses who are looking to grow through innovation. Services to business include research opportunities, student placements and commercialisation support to name a few. Businesses access a tailored package of support designed to give that helping hand with the potential risk of doing something new. Support within the project has ranged from branding advice and product design, all the way through to a full academic paper on the benefit of products to customers. The project will work with you to find the areas of support most important to you. Furthermore, the project is supported with an innovation advisor to each business, giving expert advice on how to make innovation work for your company.

So how has the project supported business so far? Wanderlust Camper Co have teamed up with Rosebud Meadows glamping site at the foot of the Malvern Hills, to offer exclusive breaks, further expanding their sales potential. With a combination of a stay in a ‘glamping’ campervan, on a glamping site located less than 10 minutes’ drive from The Three Counties Showground, guests can enjoy a unique break and combine their stay with an event at the showground. Guests are even welcome to bring their dogs or horse, to enjoy the break too. Rosebud Meadows offers first class accommodation for your horse in either the American style barn or well fenced paddock and offers direct access to over 3,000 acres of off-road riding. The location of Wanderlust Camper Co’s campervans are also perfectly located for equestrian events at Cheltenham, Hartpury and Badminton too.

Award winning craft brewery, Hillside Brewery have also teamed up with Wanderlust Camper Co – to combine a stay on their beautiful farm in the rolling Gloucestershire hills with a vast array of activities and experiences. Guests can pitch up in the campervans and book the activities for their group - perfect for a group of families or friends getting together for a special occasion or a unique experience.

Annah goes on to say, ‘We’re growing our partnerships and will soon be announcing several artisan crafts and experiences who will come out to our guest’s location and offer small workshops on silversmithing and mosaic making, for example. We’re looking forward to this season and working closely with other businesses in the area so watch this space!’
