Dovedale
One of the most iconic features of the River Dove are the stepping stones at Dovedale. It's a simple walk upstream from the Dovedale Car Park, with the impressive Thorpe Cloud as your backdrop. Your only hindrance is the weather; rain and the aftermath of rainfall, can leave some slippery conditions underfoot, while the sunny weather brings out the crowds, so expect that you won't have it all to yourself on a fine weekend or during the holidays.
Dovedale named as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the UK
