There’s also a large selection of plants and gifts for garden-lovers and a choice of traditional Christmas favourites including natural tree decorations, wreaths, mistletoe and holly. Knowledgeable staff are on hand to offer help and advice, and don’t forget: all our hardy plants have a five year guarantee.
With the largest horticultural bookshop in the north of England, our ‘bookshop with a view’ is a great place to relax and browse the extensive range of subject titles, including a captivating selection of children’s books.
No visit to Harlow Carr is complete without a trip to Bettys Café Tea Rooms to savour a mouth-watering bite in the café or coffee shop, and with hundreds of free parking spaces available too, we’ve got Christmas all wrapped up at Harlow Carr!

For magical moments this yuletide join in with our family festivities: decorate a gingerbread man, write and post a letter to the North Pole and explore the garden on a Christmas trail.
Christmas stories with Santa

For something extra special, why not book onto a Christmas story with Santa. Snuggle up for a classic Christmas tale, have a sing along and a story with the man himself and receive a small gift to take home. New for this year are special under-5’s sessions. Bookings open 1 October.
