The presentation ceremony was held in the Hall of the Fair Star

Preceded by tea and cakes and followed by celebratory Champagne and canapés, the DHBT Architecture Awards presentations were held in the splendidly Gothic 'Hall of the Fair Star' at Elvaston Castle. They are an acknowledgement of those who seek to restore and preserve the county's historic architecture, the difficulty of which task was recognized by Chairman of the DHBT Derek Latham in his welcome speech. Organiser of the awards Oliver Gerrish thanked fellow judges Matthew Parris, Ian Webster, Lizzie Stoppard, Peter Milner, Ian Griffiths, David Marley and Barry Joyce, before introducing Kit Martin - the renowned architectural designer known for his restoration and conversion of historic buildings - to make the presentations.
