Michael Portillo is set to perform at Poole's Lighthouse this autumn.

The former MP and Cabinet member will share stories from his life on Saturday, November 14, as part of his UK tour.

Tickets for the show can be purchased at fane.co.uk/michael-portillo.

Mr Portillo, known for his work both in politics and as a broadcaster, will recount tales from his time in Westminster, his adventures on the world’s railways, and his father’s escape from the Spanish Civil War.

The show promises to deliver "funny, insightful, and poignant" anecdotes from Mr Portillo’s varied life.

Having served under Margaret Thatcher and run for the leadership of the Conservative Party, Mr Portillo later transitioned into television, becoming a familiar face on programmes featuring his global railway journeys.

The show will also explore his reflections on political power, his break into TV, and his various international travels.
