A vintage ploughing match will mark its 50th anniversary at the Smedmore Estate in Kimmeridge.

Taking place on October 3, the event is organised by the Wareham & Purbeck Vintage Ploughing Committee and typically attracts more than 50 competitors.

It features vintage and classic tractors from the 1940s to the early 1970s, offering a glimpse into historical farming methods.

Classes will take account of different types, ages and sizes of tractors and ploughs, providing a window on the farming practices of the post war period.

Members of the public are invited to attend, with free entry and parking.

With catering on site, a charity raffle, and tractor trailer rides around the field at regular intervals.

Funds raised from the event will support Julia’s House Hospice in Dorset.

A spokesperson said: "The pubic are welcome and entry and parking will be free for visitors, with catering on site."
