A Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical is heading to the stage in Lowestoft.
Dear Evan Hansen will be performed for the first time in Suffolk by the Lowestoft Players at The Players Theatre later this month.
The Broadway and West End hit tells the story of Evan, an anxious high school student who gets caught in a web of lies while trying to fit in.

Emily Simpson, co-director of the show, said: "Bringing Dear Evan Hansen to life is a hugely exciting opportunity for us as a creative team.
"As one of the biggest and most talked-about musicals of recent years, made famous by Ben Platt, it is a story that has resonated with audiences around the world through its powerful music, unforgettable characters and deeply 'gritty' human themes.
"At its heart, the show explores belonging, friendship, family and the desire to be seen and understood for who you are.

"These are themes that feel incredibly relevant in today’s society, particularly for young people, and we hope our production allows our Lowestoft audiences to connect with the characters while also reflecting on their own experiences."
The musical features a score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the duo behind The Greatest Showman, and includes some of the most recognisable songs in modern musical theatre.
Dear Evan Hansen will run from Thursday, September 17 to Saturday, September 26, 2026.
