The Meadows Care Home in Alfreton, the second of six homes to open in the Milford Care group, celebrated its 30th anniversary recently with a Ritz-style afternoon tea.

The home, which was rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) last year, went the extra mile to make the day special for residents and their families with glasses of prosecco followed by afternoon tea served on vintage crockery.

‘We are proud of the Meadows as it’s such an active part of the Alfreton community,’ said Milford Care’s Director, Pierre Falleth. ‘The residents, relatives and staff are all one big family and that was evident on this special occasion, one filled with love and happiness.’

Guests included the Mayor of Alfreton, Marlene Bennett MBE, who spoke of being at the home’s opening day 30 years ago and how she has been a regular visitor to the home since it opened.
