A family festival celebrating heroes, helicopters and hit songs is set to return next month.

Helifest will take place at Scorrier House in Redruth on Saturday, July 4, from 10.30am to 6pm.

The event will raise funds for Cornwall Air Ambulance through a full day of fun and entertainment, including a headline set from ABBA tribute band Take a Chance On Us.

Karen Hurn, head of fundraising and philanthropy at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: "It has been so wonderful to see the popularity of Helifest grow over the past five years and we’re so excited to be bringing our friends and supporters together for what will be another brilliant day out for all the family.

"Helifest gives us an opportunity to shine a light on the outstanding work our blue light colleagues deliver every single day and offers a chance for us to thank our community in person for all the generosity they show us.

"We can’t wait to see everyone there, so with just over two weeks to go, make sure you grab your tickets."

The festival will celebrate the life-saving work of both Cornwall Air Ambulance and the wider emergency services across Cornwall.

Visitors will have the chance to meet the air ambulance crew, explore emergency vehicles up close, watch live demonstrations, and hear talks throughout the day.

The packed programme includes live music from acts such as Barrett’s Privateers, all-female Cornish band Kana, solo artist Seamus McKenna from Porthleven, and The Tregony Teachers.

Refreshments from local traders, arts and crafts stalls, fairground rides, and a community stage featuring even more performers will add to the day’s family-friendly atmosphere.

Adventure 001 will also be offering helicopter flight experiences throughout the event.

Helifest is now the charity’s flagship event, helping to support the delivery of critical care across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Tickets are available via the Cornwall Air Ambulance website and are £5 for children, £10 for adults, or £20 for a family ticket (two adults and up to three children).

The Cornwall Air Ambulance service receives no direct government funding and must raise more than £9 million every year to keep flying.
