Dinosaurs have returned to the Eden Project for a summer of prehistoric adventure.

The new Dinosaurs Return experience, running from July 25 to September 6, promises one of the UK’s largest collections of animatronic dinosaurs, all set within the iconic biomes of the Cornwall attraction.

Simon Townsend, general manager at the Eden Project, said: "This is one of Eden’s most famous and much-loved summer programmes, and we are incredibly excited to be bringing it back on an even bigger scale than ten years ago.

"The sheer size, level of detail and the way the dinosaurs are integrated in the Rainforest Biome makes this an experience unlike anything else in the UK.

"At a time when dinosaurs are capturing the imagination again – from major films and television to new scientific discoveries – this summer at Eden offers a truly spectacular way to experience them in a setting that’s as dramatic as the creatures themselves."

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Eden Project as an educational charity, the Dinosaurs Return event builds on the success of its Dinosaur Uprising 10 years ago, and is nearly three times larger.

It features 15 animatronic dinosaurs, including life-size models and a towering 40-foot-long Tyrannosaurus rex, all hidden among the tropical planting to create a journey through time.

The programme also includes Dinosaur World Live, an Olivier Award-winning theatre show that brings eight life-size dinosaurs to the stage.

The 45-minute performance, included with admission, runs three times daily throughout the summer.

Visitors can join the Eden Project’s resident palaeontologist to locate and identify dinosaurs within the Rainforest Biome.

Interactive activities, craft workshops and storytelling sessions are also on offer to spark curiosity and creativity in young visitors.

Elsewhere on site, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition will be open from June 6 to September 5, showcasing breathtaking images from around the globe.

Admission to all summer activities is included with a standard Eden Project ticket.

Prices start at £31.06 for adults and £10.94 per child when booked in advance, with discounts available thanks to the government’s VAT cut.

This represents a 23 per cent saving for a family of four.

Visitors are encouraged to book online on the Eden Project website.
