An amateur theatre group is set to bring a beloved musical to life.
The Brighton Theatre Group has announced it will perform Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Theatre Royal Brighton from August 12 to 16.
This production, which promises to deliver a "mixture of madness, intrigue and comedy", is made possible by arrangement with Music Theatre International.
Audiences can expect a variety of well-loved songs, including Hushabye Mountain, Me Ol’ Bamboo and of course, the theme song Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The story follows characters Potts, Truly and Jeremy and Jemima as they try to outwit the villainous Baron Bomburst and his sinister Child Catcher.
A live orchestra will accompany the show, adding to the immersive experience.
The Brighton Theatre Group, a registered charity, is no stranger to the stage, having previously put on Les Misérables - Let the People Sing.
Performances for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang are scheduled at 2.30pm and 7.30pm from Wednesday to Saturday, and at 1pm and 6pm on Sunday.
Tickets are available to purchase from the Theatre Royal Brighton website.
The group is encouraging people to join them for the opening night on Wednesday, August 12, to kick off the performance run.
